Before
Treatment: This patient was suffering with symptoms like Breathelessness, Cough,
Vomitings, Malaise, Oedema(both limbs) could not walk for more distance and 16 other
symptoms. He consulted Dr.Uma Maheswar Rao at Nizams Institute of Meical Sciences(NIMS),
Hyderabad. This patient was basically a heart patient from 1992 and using phase-maker from
then onwards. Later when he was tested and his phase-maker was changed, as 14-12-2000
Dr.Krishna, ICCU Doctor,NIMS took out Viral Load Test at Specilty Ranbaxy Ltd. and found
the result as 89126 i.e. HIV RNA PCR ULTRA QUANT.

During
Treatment:During As on 21/2/2001
i.e. after one month of taking treatment symptoms like fever, night sweats and loss of
appetite subsided and other symptoms like vomitings, cough, breathelessness,pallor,
fatigue, burning nose cured upto 50% to 75%. After using the medicine for two months there
are no much problems. As on 4/3/2001 lost of appetite, cough, forgetfulness, swelling,
joint pains, backache, cramps, nausea and vomitings. After using medicine for two months
15 days all symptoms subsided and CD4 count was 604. There are no other problems and also
having better health. After using medicine for 4 months the patient is healthy and is able
feeling better then before.
After Treatment: This patient
approached our hospital for treatment on 3/7/2001 and his Viral Load Test showed
14555(i.e. after completion if one and a half months treatment) and his CD4 test showed
608 as on 3/7/2001. There would have been increase in his Viral Count of atleast 10,000
i.e he must have had 89,000 + 10,000 - 1 Lakh virus in his body. After treatment about
35,000 virus destroyed(as on 3/7/2001), which is a tremendous change. His weight also came
down to 73 kg from 77kg i.e as on 28.6.2001. This was due to Oedema, which was present in
his body before treatment. Patient is now feeling healthy and happy as he is able to
travel and walk long distance. All other symptoms subsided. Appetite also increased.
Our Observation: As this
patient's (HIV-I RNA PCR ULTRA QUANT) had come down to 14555 from 89126 in two months, so
HIV-I & II infection may turn to Negative within 6 months. As per our analysis,
usually patients having 1000s of virus in 1,l plasma, get HIV Negative in two to three
years, but as this patient's Viral Report(HIV RNA PCR ULTRA-QUANT) has shown tremendous
change within two months after completion of treatment, he may get negative within 6
months.
It is also our observation that as the above patient(Siva Reddy) is aged 65 years and also
heart patient adn suffering with Oedema, hence he is unable to follow sex and therefore he
affained such quick result.
