PSYCHIATRIC ASPECTS OF THE HIV / AIDS AND PSYCHOLOGIC MANAGEMENT OF AIDS PATIENTS

HIV related disorders(Include AIDS)have profoundly changed the face of health care worldwide. Mental health clinicians are involved in the management of AIDS patients. Psychiatric syndromes are commonly associated with AIDS patients. Mental health clinicians are essential to the assessment and treatment of AIDS patients. The entire field of mental health has been involved in helping society cope with the effects of this modern syndrome. Patients with AIDS attending G.P Institute/Hospital of Alternative Therapies & Research Centre, were screened for psychological symptoms before and after Ayurvedic treatment. Many patients attend the hospital with more anxiety and depression etc., After Ayurvedic Treatment and psychological therapy, many of the patients got relief and expressed satisfcation with the treatment.

Various aspects of psychiatric manifestations of AIDS patients and various techniques to cope with the problem are discussed.
