In Ayurveda a unique
clinical entity was described about 3,000 years back during Samhita period which is
indentical in the etiological and clinical features and prognosis of the dreaded disease
of HIV/AIDS.
Sushruta Charya used the term "Vyavaya Sosha" while narrating the evil
effects(Symptoms) of perverted sex indulgence.
Research at the G.P. Institute(a research centre) have resulted in four formulations:
Avalmic-I, Avalmic-II, Kaphayoga, Medhamrutha.
By using these drugs CD4 absolute count returned to normal within 4-6 months. If the viral
load per ml of blood was in hundreds in a patient, he would be HIV negative in one year,
if in thousands in 2 years and if in lakhs in 3 years. In all these cases the clinical
improvement could be noticed 48 hours following treatment.
All the four formulations have been tested in vitro at the national AIDS research
institute, ICMR, Pune and findings confirmed.
At the highest concerntration of the drug that did not have any toxic activity on the cell
in culture, when tested against cell free virus, reduction in the virus growth was noted:
Avalmic-I 52%, Avalmic-II 73%, Kaphayoga 70%, Medhamrutha 39%.
Net result - these drugs do not have anti-HIV activity.
The above findings are when the formulations are tried individullay in vitro. But these
formulations are being given concurrently to patients and the total effect will be more
effective - a multi drug therapy (Bahukalpam Bahguna). The total drug for total cure is
our guiding principle - for achieving encouraging results. |
